numbers lie. yeah, the odds were wrong. because i bet on us and won.
in this, it is anything and everything i wanted it to be. feels like dreams had and plans made can't seem to equate to the reality staring right at me.
and when i look into those eyes, i can see my green tinted future playing out in a glassy reflection. silent movies. beautiful and serene. exciting and complete. they never seem to end. so the time spent in between waiting for the real thing just passes in a daydream. the day to day finds me absent, and not really here. i'm where my mind resides. i'm half in a dream and half in your eyes.
i'm fighting the present trying to drag me out of the future and into my past....but even that can't last too long, cuz i remember the day when i took tomorrow by the hand and she said that she'd follow wherever i led.
this time i push forward harder than i ever have, gripping her fingers tight, laced in mine, and keeping her right with me while i cross this great divide and step into an unknown world which i so desperately want to learn. if i take her by the waist and guide her just right, then she'll lead me to that place. the same place she was the night she married fate. she'll bring me out of a dream and into reality, where you're in my arms, and she loves us both.
silent movies tend to gain sound when you're near. step out of your eyes, and into my ears.
